Conducts education, process, and face-to-face interviews by using the ASI assessment tools, and other special groups as required, in accordance with Title 9 Program or Drug Diversion Standards and as specified in the Safety Center curriculum, to assist client in overcoming alcohol and drug dependency, to discuss payment of fees, attendance at required sessions, and to identify problems.

Refers client to other support services as needed such as evaluation and treatment, social services, and employment services.

Monitors condition of client to evaluate successful completion of the program.

Refers other client concerns to Program Administrator or Manager.

Represents Safety Center in court regarding DUI or DD cases if called by the court.

Is responsible for maintaining accurate records and documentation of classroom/counseling sessions to assure the positive outcome of internal audits as well as audits conducted by county and/or state officials and others with jurisdiction.

Implements corrective action plan to solve problems.

Assures that the building is secure and alarms set at the end of the working day, when closing after regular business hours.

Attends monthly meetings with Program Administrators or Manager and the VP to discuss and coordinate planning and implementation of program activities and services through a continuous process improvement plan.

Monday-Friday Schedule:
•    8:10 on site, HM signature for room check required to sign out for morning activities
•    HM opens med. drawer for all residents after the 7:30am House Meeting.
•    Night-time medication will be dispersed after the 5:30pm House Meeting.
•    If the HM is on property, it is mandatory that he or she attends any House Meetings.
•    Two nights a week, the HM is on site to attend the evening House check-in, and to participate with the community. (Ex. meeting, community dinner, volunteering, movie, etc.)

Saturday Schedule:
•    9:00am House Meeting run by HM
•    9:30am Med. Drawer is open for all residents
•    10:00am-12:00pm (?) Double scrub facilitated by HM, beginning at 10am-?, once double scrub is completed it is the responsibility of the HM to sign residents out and confirm they have completed this weekly task.
•    12:00pm (?) After double scrub is complete med. drawer is open for residents.
•    12:00am (curfew) HM is on site to check residents in.

Sunday Schedule:

•    Proceeding the morning house meeting, HM facilitates the residents are preparing to set up for the barbecue.

•    11:00am Barbecue, HM is responsible to help facilitate the Community BBQ, including to make sure the food and beverages are continually refurbished.

House Manager Responsibilities Also Include:
•    Minimum of 2x a week, the HM is responsible for selecting names from the designated bowl, for random drug/alcohol testing.
•    Minimum of 1x a week, the HM is responsible for conducting random bed checks. If HM notices “abnormal” behavior from resident, he or she will conduct more frequent bed checks.
•    If HM is not working, he or she will attend “community” activities. (Ex. Volunteering at street fair, Friday night meeting, etc.)
•    HM is IMMEDIATELY available for all House Emergencies, and following the below procedures:
1.    (Ex. Relapse, Violence, Etc) HM is immediately available for the House Safety.
2.    Immediately inform Ken, Eric, & Rich for proper protocol.
3.    During a relapse we never “kick out” we as a community “kick up” to find a higher level of care for that individual.

Position Description:    We have been providing individual psychotherapy, online by live video chat, for more than a year. We are now building a next generation substance abuse treatment center, also online by live video conference. We will soon offer an intensive outpatient program for chemical dependency. Roland Williams, co-founder of the Bayside Marin and Alta Mira Recovery centers, with 25 years of experience in the addiction treatment field, is leading our program development, and he will serve as acting Clinical Director through the launch phase.

Our program will deliver treatment via high-definition desktop video conferencing, encrypted to military standards. Our practice area is national, and eventually global. We will offer morning and evening programs.

We are very close to launch, and we need a few nationally-certified addiction counselors to join us. Please be at least a Registered Addiction Specialist if you apply. Duties in this position will include screening phone calls, intake, orientation, treatment planing, documentation, individual and group counseling, preparing and presenting psychoeducation lectures, and family counseling. Initially, it may be somewhat part time, but we expect that as we grow, there will be lots of work to do. Our offices are located in Mountain View, CA, and initially, counselors will provide treatment from our office studios. Over time, we expect that our counselors will practice from wherever they are.
